Burning River is a small home based kennel out of Cleveland, Ohio. We are just experiencing our beginnings and are learning as much as we can about the boxer breed. We take breeding very seriously and when the time comes that we will breed our first litter, we will strive to breed the healthiest boxers possible. Temperament is of the utmost importance and all of our dogs are indoor dogs, meaning they are not raised in kennels; they are raised in our home. Although occupying our couch is our dogs' primary "job" they enjoy training and working in Obedience as well. We also believe in showing our dogs in Conformation to ensure that they closely represent the blueprint, or standard by which the boxer breed is maintained.

Burning River Boxers adopted it's name in 2003 from the Cuyahoga River, also called "The Burning River". Our dogs love the out-of-doors and in summers they can be found with us on long walks through the Cleveland Metroparks System. Each walk ends with a playful romp in the Cuyahoga River. It can easily be described as Nedra's favorite past time, so it seemed completely appropriate to name our kennel after our first love in boxers, as our dogs truly are the heart and soul of Burning River.

All of our breeding stock will be tested for heart, hip and thyroid problems prior to breeding. If any genetic conditions are found, consideration to remove said dog from our breeding program will be made. Hardcopies of health tests will be made available to serious inquiries only. We will always take back any dog that is ever bred by us at any time, no questions asked. Pets will always be placed on spay and neuter contracts. We also believe in helping boxers that are already here before considering bringing more into this world. We believe very strongly in caring for the breed as a whole, and these are just a few things that we do in light of that.

We have been members of Miami Valley Boxer Club since 2002.
